Richard (Dick) died suddenly on January 4, 2016 at the age of 77.
He leaves behind his wife Shirley, children Bette Lafleche (Mike) of Sudbury, John Davis (Mary Jane) of Barrie, Patty Brown (Rick) of Uxbridge. Step children Michele Lamoureux (Larry), Drew Robertson (Lise), of New Liskeard and Charene Clayton (Russ) of Bradford. He is also leaving behind 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Dick retired from Kirkland and District Hospital as a Stationary Engineer to be able to spend more time tinkering with his antique tractors. He was involved with the Earlton Steam Show for 39 years and also an avid participant with the local and International Plowing Match in the antique division. He was also on the Hilliard School reunion committee and a member of the Golden age Seniors Club enjoying the many pot lucks and always made his special recipe famous baked beans. He contributed many stories and photos to the Hilliardton book and often received calls to draw on his wealth of historical information. He also served in the Military, telling us he was there when the Berlin wall went up and his son John was there in the Military when it came down.
Arrangements are as follows:
Lunch will be served by the Golden Age Club on Thursday January 7, 2016 at noon, and the Celebration of life will follow at the Hilliardton Hall.
In memory contributions to the Earlton Steam Show (Debbie Demarce, P.O. Box 211, Earlton ON, P0J 1E0) or the Diabetes Association will be greatly appreciated by the family. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left at www.mcdonaldfuneralhome.ca.
